False Labor Sucks

I've been having regular contractions for nearly three freaking weeks now! This is getting so old, seriously.

Went to the doc Friday and he asked if I'd been having regular contractions. I said "oh yeah, all the time", so he asked how regular and I said, "oh, 3-5 minutes apart, lasting about a minute each, for an average of three hours at a time, but they never get worse so I don't bother calling". He laughed and said "yeah, look for them to get worse" I just laughed too and said "that's why I never called -- I figured no sense in getting everyone worked up when I knew it was nothing!"

So I go back Wednesday and they're going to talk induction. It's not my ideal, but I'm concerned that if I go too terribly far past 40 weeks, the placenta will have issues and/or Sprout will pass meconium which is dangerous for him/her, and I don't want that.

So I think I'll have them check me (yuck) and maybe strip my membranes or something. Doesn't that just sound like sooo much fun? Yeah. Thought so.

But I'm still hoping to go before then. It would be kind of neat to go on my sister's birthday (which is my due date), if for nothing else than the fact it would be incredibly easy to remember haha

Same ol' same ol'

Appointment went fine. Sprout is still head down, heartbeat around 130-140, my weight and bp and everything was fine. I go back next Friday (assuming we don't have a newborn by then lol)

I did get sick while I was there though. That was trippy. I was laying on the table while she was looking for the heartbeat and I got really hot and nauseous and lightheaded. I guess that's what I get for not eating breakfast huh? lol

False alarms suck

That's what I get for getting excited lol

I was having regular contractions for three hours last night, but dangit they puttered out around midnight. Boo! lol They were 5-6 minutes apart lasting about a minute each, but they never really got stronger or even super uncomfortably.

Sprout is such a tease lol

I have an appointment today but it's just a poke-the-belly visit so I don't think it'll tell me anything. I'll update when I get home :)

Oh man

Where to begin? lol

Mike lost his job the 29th. I'm SO not going into details but suffice it to say they were looking for a reason to terminate him, and he made a minor slipup in policy and they ran with it, despite the fact that they let others get away with the same thing as well as much much worse. But, whatever.

So I'm 37w today. It's SO hard not to get impatient lol I went into labor with James at 37w1d so of course when tomorrow comes and goes and Sprout is still in my belly, I'm going to be mighty disappointed :P

The really bad thing is I don't think I have insurance. It sucks. Whereas everyone else seems to prepay their insurance, Wal-Mart is bass-ackwards and post-pays it, so our health insurance supposedly is canceled as of the 29th (funny, seeing as how they haven't yet keyed it into the system)

That, of course, is one of the reasons I'm so impatient to get Sprout here -- if I can just get into the system at the hospital before the actual paperwork terminating our benefits goes through, they won't know I don't have insurance and I won't have to worry about a reduced quality of care because of being put in as "self-pay" (which is seriously a concern at this hospital).

Anyway, Mike took some maternity pictures of me yesterday and I think they came out pretty well, considering the subject ;)

So, hopefully I'll be updating in the next few days with baby pictures! Send me some labor dust!!
